When the Darkhorse Battalion is deployed on foreign lands, at sea or on training missions within the United States, Team Darkhorse renders support. Having a new pair of socks was a welcomed relief to Marines serving in Afghanistan. A library of books and Olympic barbell sets were useful to Marines deployed on ships during the MEW assignment. A project call Operation Sweet Tooth provided treats for Marines engaged in training at 29 Palms. Valentines and other correspondence help remind our Marines that we appreciate their service to our country. Two hundred beautiful wooden pens crafted by the Orange County Woodworkers Association were sent to the Battalion when deployed to Okinawa.
Another important facet of our mission entails supporting families when the Battalion is deployed. Diapers are collected on a continuing basis at the Heidelberg Bakery, baby welcome packages are prepared for every new delivery and we sponsor or support other functions throughout the year.
